///////////////////THIS PAGE IS NOW DEDICATED TO THE TAWASAP COMMUNITY PROJECT\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
We do this for several reasons:
1. to aid in cultural preservation of their oral traditions, customs, indigenous plants and animals, lands.
2. self-empowerment of the peoples themselves to be custodians of their documented culture and heritage
3. that the tribes might have full autonomy over who and where and how footage is shown
4. to reinvigorate the youth to be interested in cultural preservation, and to learn to do intergenerational interviewing and documentation
5. providing skills and equipment that increase job skills and economic viability
WISH LIST:
*Tawasap Community Project is looking for a executive board to assist in fund raising and networking to gather the necessary resources to actualize this project
*Apple Laptop computer
(Why Mac? We have found that Mac is intuitively designed with icons and user friendly ease, and thus easier to operate in non-English formats. Also, Mac comes standard with photo, video, recording, and arts friendly software.)
*High Definition Digital Video Camera
*1 Terrabit External Harddrive, Mac formattable
*2 Digital Cameras that use AA batteries (as the Tawasap community does not have electricity, only sometimes uses a gas powered generator, thus we want to keep recharging issues down to a minimum)
*2 GB of larger digital camera memory cards
*Flash drives- 2 GB and over
*Memory card reader (universal)
*AA batteries
*Blank writeable CD's and DVD's
*Sharpies
